That saved my life! On mac, they are not called kfx as an app designation, but have azw. And no longer convert. Hard to find this info on Google as well! What also helped: accidentally finding my kindle serial number by double clicking on Settings - that was unknown by Amazon support, but apparently exists for older kindles.
