Ok, I think I figured it out finally. Here is what must be done, combining all the stuff that people have posted: 1. Make sure your destiny2. Empty Recycle Bin, make sure its all gone. Log Back In 6. Verify Integrity of Game Files. I was able to get to the character selection screen and drop in to the Moon. Do not go back and set destiny2. That just broke it again. I did my same method again and fixed it, was able to load the game two consecutive times. I feel that should be the fix. I just verified it for like the 8th time, tripped checked it got through my firewall, ran it as an administrator, and launched it through my program files.
Then it worked :. I've tried the whole "delete everything but the packages file" method, it works for a bit, but after an hour or two it does the same thing and then I can hardly load it for 5 mins. Just gotta wait for Bungie to fix this.
Edited by nikmatnyabosku. Same story here. Verified twice. Moved some of the files from the bin into the root folder. Nothing worked. Deleted everything but the package folder and verifying again as some have suggested. Same problem. Tried all known fixes. Not working. Party Rocking. Yeah preloaded the game a few days ago tried to play at launch but it wanted to update what was already done downloading. We will share the patch notes for the new update in a separate post as soon as the maintenance is over on all platforms.
